You are talking to me
and I don’t even hear what you are saying –
I am watching your eyes,
lost in them.
They sparkle and open wide as you speak,
soft and brown and sincere.
They hypnotize me.
The tone of your voice is deep,
and filled with expression.
It modulates in a sing-song way
as you chatter.
It soothes me.
Your face is alive with character,
bright and animated.
Your laughter illuminates your face,
as your hands gesture rapidly.
It entrances me.
I am hypnotized, I am soothed
and entranced by you
as you speak to me.
And I don’t even hear
what you are saying.
