I woke up this morning from a dream …
Still shaken, from the sights.
A heavenly figure loomed over me,
Who made me recall my life.
I felt the sting of days that passed …
The watering in my eyes.
As he made me see what I had done,
Was not what I realized.
He made me look at the pain I caused …
To all those of whom I love.
Broken promises and shattered dreams,
Is what my life was made of.
I felt the tears running down my face …
My heartbeat erratically danced.
I then promised him that I would change,
If given a second chance.
I vow to those who I have dismayed …
To make up for what I’ve done.
By holding you close within my heart,
I promise to treasure your love.
The tears that I cry – I cry for you …
Hoping one day you’ll soon forget.
And forgive me for the hurt I’ve caused,
I’m sorry and I regret.
The heavenly figure then smiled at me …
Said, “Son I have faith in you.
The life that you lead is yours to decide,
But, we must one day face the truth.

“So live each day like it is your last …
And you’ll always rise above.
Never question the teachings of the heart,
Because, the answer is always love.”
