the sun inside me burns the wrong colour
it boils and shrieks and stains
dripping on my other organs, sticky and spreading
sometimes it climbs up my throat
onto my tongue
weaving and seeping through my teeth
I am eroding
he had venom and now I have venom too
in my heart valves, in my eyes
the windows to the soul have endless burning film
sometimes the smoke and the fumes cloud my head
it tastes like metal
like oil
like blood
or laundry and soil and heat and scales
I hear fluorescent lighting
drilling deep into my ears
clocks are hammers
but I can’t stand the workshop
like cotton licks my teeth
I am devoured
but still I live in the belly of a beast
wading in battery acid
at least sometimes it rains

One of the most original use of metaphor I’ve seen in quite a long time. Very creative!
