The Last Time

So say this is the last time

set yourself a stopping point

and draw yourself a line

then act like this is different

this time it will be fine

then realize, regret, lament

the day you changed your mind

 

see self-made rules are breakable

more-so than the rest

so say its not your fault this time

you tried your very best

 

now try again, do better now

this time it really counts

your friends and family worry

and they’re keeping an account

of every time that you fucked up

so keep it up for them

but then again

 

who are they?

to criticize you?

as if they have a single notion

of what you’ve been through

this is your life

you do what you must do

but say this is the last time

tomorrow you’ll start new

 

then realize, regret, lament

and crawl to them

with your head bent

look them in their teary eyes

beg and promise

spit your lies
