Pain found a home in my heart.
It treads through my veins until
stopping at my fingertips
grasping onto a silver release.
Pain found a home in my heart.
Keeping me up at night,
growing colder and colder
with every break.
Pain found a home in my heart.
Sucking the life from my eyes
where tears no longer fall but drown me
until I can no longer swim into the void which has replaced
my beating heart.
Pain found a home in my heart.
I open my mouth to scream
but no sound comes out as I’m muffled by
Death’s hand.
Pain found a home in my heart.
Beating to the rhythm of the bells
tolling at my funeral as
the leaves are changing color.
