2 Chronicles 6:1

The Lord said that He shall dwell
in the thick darkness.

Where is this abode
and what does it look like?

Gazing up at the heavens
I remember reading about dark matter.

Its composition is unknown
and it cannot be directly observed,

but its presence can be inferred
by its gravitational effect on visible matter.

It accounts for the vast majority
of mass in the known universe.

Playing a central role in galaxy evolution,
it reminded me of God’s words.

I wondered if dark matter is the thick darkness
He spoke about.

Looking at our world and the influence
man has upon the Earth,

I can perfectly understand His preference
for staying in the dark.

I like this poem very much, Eli and I love that it is penned with a sense of humour as the final lines in the poem demonstrate. An insightful, thought provoking write which I enjoyed reading. Thank you for sharing…

    • Thanks again for the review, Marie. I think where God is concerned, there has to be humour involved somewhere along the lines. How else could we explain the world as it is and the creation of the world as it may or may not have occurred?
