Lost On a Starless Sea

You showed me a place where willows leaned,
With fields of jade and kelly green,
You showed me rivers cool and slow,
Where dandelion wishes go.
Safe and warm,
And sunny.
I thought myself above such things,
And left in search of brighter springs.
A bigger, better place than ours,
Running off to follow stars.
Leaving you,
Behind.
But darling now that starlight’s dying,
I’m left here like a child crying,
A lifecraft lost on stormy seas,
Without the starlight guiding me,
I’m completely,
And entirely alone.
There’s no more stars and it’s not yet day,
I feel my lifecraft drifting ‘way,
Unseen thunder taunting me,
A child lost on stormy sea.
It’s dark,
And I’m afraid.
Please, just say we’ll be ok,
We’ll rendezvous on land some day,
Somewhere safe, where willows lean,
In fields of jade and kelly green.

  1. I’ve just done a whole lot of writing, and I’m posting it all rapid fire today, so do excuse my dominating the ‘recent’ page. Also, I’m fifteen now! It’s cool to be able to learn to drive. anyway, please enjoy my five to six brain children that I’m forcing on the site. 🙂
