surrogate mother

Note: Musically inspired,
Most of my poems are meant to be read along with music,
to hopefully produce a similar heart effect that music creates in me.
Please wait until the initial introduction and the music picks-up a nice rhythm in this piece, is about 23-24 sec.  thank you.

On a high mountain top, in the cradle of her arms, I fall asleep crying

as warm tears turn to cold mist, encased in  gray murky clouds

slowly floating, spreading across fields, mountains, rocks and pastures.

Sadness enshrouds the land on the days the sun decides to nap

transmuting my heart’s tears into an elixir, magic that sustain this paradise

while at times I also dance to the thunder of the drums.

I am her beloved, her favorite daughter

not for being the most fair

neither the most eloquent

simply for being attuned and lending an ear to the needs of her heart.

My surrogate mother, my friend, my beautiful confidant,

my beloved mother earth

I, her beloved daughter rain!
