How do you live when you can’t breathe
You feel like you are dying inside,
When you start to whither and fade away.
No one notices you are slipping,
You crawl and your grab for something to hold,
When you reach and there is nothing,
You know you are doomed.
Doomed to a life full of dread,
Doomed to a life full of regret,
Doomed to a life full of despair.
You know you deserve to be alone,
But you crave a love you have never known.
You bargain with God, make promises indeed
Still questions are unanswered so alone you will be.
Alone in a relative way,
You could be surrounded by people,
Feel no love or joy.
You go numb and hide inside yourself,
And realize this is life in a nutshell.
