Jesus was crucified between two thieves
one on his right and the other on his left.
While the thief on the left even in the midst of
his own suffering, sneered at Christ,
“Aren’t you the messiah? save yourself and us.”
While the thieve on the right said,
“And indeed, we have been condemned justly,
for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes,
but this man has done nothing criminal.”
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.
” Jesus replied to him, “Amen, I say to you,
today you will be with me in Paradise.” -Lk23:43
Jesus died with his head inclined to the right
showing his acceptance for the repented thief.
The penitent thief, known as St. Dismas,
shows us the power of conversion.
Note: On Friday March 29, 2024 Christians celebrate Good Friday.
That terrible Friday has been called Good Friday because it led to the Resurrection of Jesus and his victory over death and sin and the celebration of Easter.
Jesus died on Friday, April 3, AD 33 at about 3 p.m., a few hours before the beginning of Passover day and the Sabbath.
